Just Remember to Breathe

Not long ago, I had an experience that reminded me of something essential:
sometimes, the only thing we need to be okay is to stay connected to what gives us life.

Before going underwater, my instructor told me something I’ll never forget. He said:

“You’re connected to oxygen the entire time. Just remember to breathe calmly. Inhale calmly. Exhale calmly. That’s all you need to do, and you’ll be perfectly fine.”

And while I was underwater, I realized something very clearly.

What was keeping me alive down there wasn’t my strength, my control, or my ability to figure things out.
It was the oxygen tank.

Without it, I couldn’t survive.

There was nothing complicated I needed to do.
I didn’t need to fight the water.
I didn’t need to rush.

All I had to do was stay calm… and keep breathing.

That moment became more than a simple diving tip.
It became a life lesson.

Just as that oxygen tank sustained me underwater, we also need to stay connected to our source of life: the presence of God.

His Word.
His peace.
His voice in prayer.

That’s what keeps us grounded.
That’s what gives us strength.
That’s what holds us steady and fills us with clarity and joy when everything around us feels overwhelming.

There are seasons in life that feel like stepping into the unknown.
Fear tries to take over.
Questions begin to rise.
We wonder if we’ll make it through.

But when we stay connected to Him—breathing in His truth and remaining in His presence—we are sustained.

So today, if you’re entering a new season or facing something uncertain, remember this:

You are connected to the Source.
Just keep breathing.

Keep reading His Word.
Keep seeking His presence.
Stay connected to the Source.

At Rise Up, many of our jewelry pieces are created as gentle reminders—not just something to wear, but something to remember.

A reminder to pause.
To breathe.
To return to peace.
To stay connected to what truly gives life.

Because life isn’t about having everything figured out—
it’s about staying connected.
